Melon de Bourgogne.com -- Charter
Melon de Bourgogne.com is maintained (with admitted enlightened
self-interest) by Mike Lempriere, proprietor of Perennial Vintners.
Our charter is simple and non-formal -- this website will present
factual information about the Melon de Bourgogne winegrape, plantings,
and wines in America.
The website is mostly a labor of love, though it is also partially an
admitted advertising mechanism. There are so few Melon de Bourgogne
wines from American producers, that we (the producers) can all work
together to raise awareness of this wonderful wine, and all benefit,
even though we could be seen as competitors. I hope to have
contributions to this website from all U.S. Melon de Bourgogne
producers in the near future.

Mike Lempriere and family run the tiny production Perennial
Vintners winery in Bainbridge Island, in the Puget Sound American
Viticultural Area (PS AVA) of Washington State, U.S.A. They've
planted their own grapes, and are proving that the cool maritime
climate near Seattle is suited to excellent winegrowing.
In addition to a full-time "day-gig" in Seattle as a computer
programmer for Cisco Systems Inc., Mr. Lempriere runs a small-scale
website hosting business, Vintners.Net; he also maintains (as a hobby
project) "MikeL's WA Winery Guide", a compilation of historical
information on all Washington State wineries. (Mr. Lempriere is a
very busy fellow.)
